Riding on a wave of teen scene success stories like Justin Bieber and Miley Ray Cyrus; Captivating Kid has caught the attention of America in a big way. Young, old, rich or poor, absolutely no one can take their eyes off of this prepubescent superhero sensation. Gifted with a unique ability to render onlookers motionless and in a transfixed state, Captivating Kid is one of the most monumentally endowed super heroes of our time! Whether he’s fighting crime, signing autographs for his fans, or battling the FCC to allow him to appear at the Super Bowl, he’s always got the general public ready and waiting to slip him a 10′er. Is it his big heart? his big smile? His big honkers (Dude, those seagulls seriously wont leave him alone)?!? You decide! All we can say for sure is that Captivating Kid is developing like no boy before him.

How does one denote sarcasm in written text? This is what The Maternal Manimal ponders as his word bubble says “Honey, the baby’s crying again”. There is no “Honey” by they way, but only a single superhero who’s matronly persona is based on the belief that society is one big baby needing his form of tender, loving, vigilante care. Be careful what you believe in! The Maternal Manimal’s baby is a dirty, demanding little stink of a town witch cries out for attention at all hours of the day and night. Their dependence on him has grown so great, that they’ve taken it upon themselves to erect a distress signal that shines his image onto the clouds whenever there’s trouble. The public laughingly refer to it as “the baby monitor”. When they turn it on, one can clearly see the tiny little wrinkles that have developed on The Maternal Manimal’s forehead. Those stress lines hint at Manimals deep, foreboding worry that his beloved burgh is morphing into something that looks and acts a lot like a 28-year-old live-at-home mooch.

STICK, STEAM, n’ SEAL, this is one hero who’s gonna profit on his appeal. He’s Iron-On Man and he’s got a plan to saturate the market with his very own brand. UGH!….. rhyming introductions are one thing no one should have to withstand. Anyhoo, Iron-On Man does what every truly great super hero does: market themselves! T-shirts, mugs, male enhancement pills, if you want to make it as a major comic book figure, you’re going to have to have the right decal. Armed with plain white T’s, Avery Transfers and an ironing board he likes to call “Jacob”, Iron-On Man is ready to tap into a market whose heights have yet to be scaled by any hero before him. Can he do it, can he turn a profit…stay tuned to find out?

The crushing defeat of a great super hero is an event that’s so major, it could send comic book enthusiasts everywhere clamoring toward the shelves of their local bookstores to purchase multiple copies of the saga so that they could eventually sell it on e-bay at a profit. Not so for the demise of The Human Punching Bag, whose thrashings on the battlefield have become so commonplace that they get little, if any, attention at all. In fact, other super heroes use his regular ass whooping’s as a combat strategy to exhaust their opponent’s of energy before a major fight. Therein lies the genius of “H.P.B.”. With the power to constantly get his butt beat, he aids in making our streets safe from petty criminals and general evil doers who would otherwise terrorize them. Above is a typical scene from one of his battles, wherein a damage surveyor notices one of the obvious shortcomings of our hero. If there is a lesson to be taken from the very existence of The Human Punching Bag, it’s that when life deals you the short end of the stick….. YOU’RE SCREWED….so you better embrace it!

There is something brewing in the cafes of Madrid’s Gran Via. An unsettling quiet has overtaken one of the cities busiest thoroughfares and the man responsible is Spain’s most artful and crafty protagonist since Salvador Dali. They call him “El Mudo” ( literal translation…the mute…I think) and he’s the prick thats poking holes through the words of the general public. Cloaked in his dark shadowy Latin features, disguising himself in hidden corners and narrow alleys, who can stop this pestiferous perforator? One thing is certain…the great American Super Hero “Bitch Boy” ain’t gonna take this lying down. He’s even brought along that kooky cut-up of the third kind, “Chew Boy”, to help out. Together they will penetrate a hole in El Mudo’s plans ….or be penetrated.

Welcome,
Willkommen, Bienvenue, 欢迎光临,
Many thanks to you for stopping on by….put your feet up and sit a spell. What you see to your immediate left is the first example of my latest project entitled “Superhero Situations.” It’s a profile of the worlds most beloved superheros, their most famous battles and their general exploits. Each strip is single panel, hand drawn and hand inked (a first for me after so many years). At present time, there is no set schedule for updates of this work; I am just placing new panels up as they are completed. But with that said, you can depend on there being a new work at least once a week!
This comic panel is also available to purchase on T-SHIRT or MUG. Just click here!
Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Chew Boy
